Building Information Modelling (BIM)

The construction industry is becoming increasingly complex, with larger and more complex projects being undertaken all the time. As a result, there is a growing need for new methods and modern equipment that can help to streamline planning processes, increase efficiency, and improve transparency throughout the project lifecycle.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) has transformed the construction industry by providing a combination of tools and technologies that produce a digital representation of the physical and functional characteristics of a building. It has also changed the way construction teams and stakeholders collaborate on a project – not only during construction, but for the lifetime of a building. More and more government organizations are also encouraging construction companies to adopt the latest digital technologies to streamline the project lifecycle and remain compliant.

The goal of BIM is to improve collaboration, communication, and coordination among all stakeholders involved in a construction project. By creating a shared digital model, everyone involved in the project can access and update the same information in real-time, reducing errors and inconsistencies that can occur with traditional paper-based processes. BIM models typically include information about the physical characteristics of the building, such as the layout, materials, and structural systems. They can also include data about energy use, lighting, and other aspects of building performance, which can help to optimize energy efficiency and reduce operating costs over time.

For over a decade, we have been helping AEC adopt BIM modelling services in their construction projects from design and delivery to operations and maintenance. We create digital twins for your construction projects that allow you to micro-manage every tiny detail of the project, collaboratively.

  • Maximise efficiency
  • Reduce risk, costs & wastage
  • Improved collaboration
  • Real-time insights

At Digile, we provide strategic BIM Consulting with a clear 5-step implementation process:

Step 1. Evaluate project feasibility & current capabilities

Before we start the BIM implementation, we conduct organizational assessment to gauge the BIM maturity of your organization. This involves reviewing your processes, workflows and BIM knowledge of the team.

Step 2. Establish desired level of implementation

Next, we work with you to define the BIM goals of your project and set measurable and achievable targets that serve as key parameters of success. This allows us to establish the level of BIM implementation that your organization needs and also gives you the power to monitor the progress throughout the project lifecycle.

Step 3. BIM Execution Plan (BEP)

We develop a comprehensive execution plan that helps different members of the team identify and execute the function BIM provides in the various phases of the project. it can help everyone stay on the same page and present a clear plan of goals and targets every step of the way. The BEP confirms the intended uses of the BIM, describing the communication paths, the structure, the level of detail of the model elements and the BIM process design.

Step 4. BIM Implementation

We provide BIM modelling services from concept stages through to detailed construction stages to models for 6D Facility Management purposes. We also perform BIM Coordination & produce clash analysis reports, prepare Quantity Take-Offs, produce Construction simulation, generate Shop Drawing, and 3D visualization animation. Our professional services include converting point cloud and laser survey data into 3D BIM model and Analytical Models.

Step 5. BIM Construction Monitoring

We provide BIM-based approach for onsite progress monitoring to track the ongoing work on construction sites and conducting photogrammetric surveys for capturing actual site conditions. We also provide supervision assistance to Support BIM within project teams. 4D models (3D models with the added dimension of time) are utilized to show the construction sequence and space requirements on a project site.

We cover all the aspects of digital delivery from design review with virtual reality to detailed BIM management working alongside the project teams. We also perform a dedicated BIM Management role to ensure the delivery of our projects from all team members is compliant with requirements for innovation led developments. Our experience in BIM Management ensures that BIM will drive significant end to end efficiencies during the design & delivery process. Designers, engineers, cost consultants, contractors and owners & operators will all benefit from the sophistication produced by our well managed digital process.
