The Solution Architect focuses on projects or functional areas within the broader enterprise ServiceNow framework, crafting technical solutions that meet immediate needs while fitting seamlessly into the organization’s IT ecosystem. They are responsible for the overall architecture, design, and integrity of ServiceNow applications under their purview – including enhancements to existing modules and the development of new capabilities on the platform. Working closely with stakeholders and technical teams, the Solution Architect ensures that ServiceNow solutions are delivered following best practices, are scalable and secure, and deliver value to end-users.
Usually 7-12 years of total experience in IT, with at least 4-5 years focused on ServiceNow implementation and design. Many ServiceNow Solution Architects grow into the role after first working as developers or technical consultants on the platform. It’s common to have been involved in multiple ServiceNow projects or rollouts, progressively taking on more design responsibility. Candidates often have experience across different versions of the ServiceNow platform and have seen at least two major version upgrades.
