We are seeking a seasoned Azure Service Bus Subject Matter Expert (SME) to design, implement, and manage mission-critical messaging solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in building reliable, scalable, and secure asynchronous communication patterns using Azure Service Bus. You will be responsible for defining best practices, providing architectural guidance, and ensuring the health and performance of our messaging infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level messaging solutions using Azure Service Bus (Queues, Topics, and Subscriptions).
• Provide architectural guidance and serve as the technical authority on all things related to Azure Service Bus.
• Monitor and optimize Service Bus performance, throughput, and costs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to message delivery, dead-lettering, and connectivity.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure proper implementation of messaging patterns (e.g., publish-subscribe, request-reply, competing consumers).
• Establish and enforce best practices for Service Bus configuration, security, and governance.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and monitoring.
• Lead the documentation of Service Bus architectures, message schemas, and operational procedures.

Technical Skills Required

• Overall 7-10 years of experience with 5+ years of strong, hands-on experience with Azure Service Bus.
• Deep understanding of Azure messaging patterns, including topics, subscriptions, queues, and message dead-lettering.
• Proficiency in C# and the Azure SDK for .NET, with experience developing Service Bus producers and consumers.
• Extensive experience with Azure Functions or other compute services for processing Service Bus messages.
• Familiarity with other Azure integration services such as Event Grid and Event Hubs.
• Hands-on experience with Azure CLI, PowerShell, or ARM/Bicep templates for infrastructure as code.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Strong understanding of security best practices for Azure Service Bus, including Shared Access Signatures (SAS) and role-based access control (RBAC).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with advanced Service Bus features like sessions, transactions, and message ordering.
• Exposure to other messaging platforms like RabbitMQ, Kafka, or ActiveMQ.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Cloud certifications such as Azure Developer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
