Clarity, Consistency, and Innovation: A Leadership Journey with Dipin Sahney

Leadership in operations today demands agility, foresight, and an unwavering focus on people. Dipin Sahney, EVP & Head of Operations, Americas at Digile, embodies these qualities through a career that has spanned consulting, industry leadership, and now global operations. Through his story, he highlights the evolution of operations, the role of innovation, and how clarity and collaboration shape his leadership philosophy.

To start, could you walk us through your professional journey and the key moments that brought you to your role as EVP & Head of Operations at Digile?

I began my career in consulting, where I developed a structured approach to problem-solving and learned the value of agility in diverse business environments. After moving into industry roles, I learned how to roll up my sleeves, build and lead strong cross-functional teams, navigating complexity and harnessing technology and innovation to drive transformation and operational impact from within. Now, in my current role, it feels like I have come full circle, and I couldn’t be more excited. This role gives me the unique opportunity to combine strategic vision with executional depth. It’s deeply rewarding to be part of a mission-driven team that’s building impactful solutions, scaling globally, and continually pushing the envelope with innovation and delivery. Every day brings new challenges, but even more importantly, new opportunities to grow, contribute, and make a difference.

How would you sum up your approach to operations leadership in one sentence — and what influenced it most?

“Operate with empathy, drive with intent, and deliver with consistency” - Striking balance between listening, aligning, and executing, always keeping the customer and the team in focus.

In your view, what’s the biggest transformation happening in operations today, and how are you steering Digile to stay ahead?

Operations is no longer just about execution; it’s about agility, intelligence, and enabling innovation at scale. The biggest transformation I see is the shift toward data-informed, automation-first tech-enabled operations that are proactively shaping outcomes rather than just reacting to issues.

What’s one process innovation or operational shift you’ve led that made a lasting impact?

Some of the most impactful changes in my experience have come not from sweeping overhauls, but from subtle shifts, some examples include refining a process iteratively (continuous improvement), fostering collaboration and aligning teams that were previously operating in silos (incremental albeit intentional breakthroughs), or cultural shifts (trust deficit -> trust rich culture) and mindset shifts (change-averse or fixed mindsets -> agility). It's often about unlocking potential already within the team or system.

What’s a guiding principle or piece of advice you rely on, both in leadership and in life?

There’s quite a few but one that is top of mind is that “Clarity builds trust”, whether in decision-making, or while setting expectations with customers, co-workers or in personal ilfe, I’ve found that clear communication and shared understanding are foundational to sustenance and momentum.

Outside of the office, what helps you recharge — any personal passions, hobbies, or routines?

I believe in staying grounded and energized through routines that bring joy, whether that’s time with loved ones (including Yogi, our 6-yr old german shepherd), time in nature, or simple moments of reflection. I enjoy capturing a beautiful moment or a landscape, whether through the phone camera or the sophisticated interchangeable lens camera(s) that are beginning to feel bulky to carry around as phone cameras have gotten better over the years. Giving back is a big part of how I stay grounded. My wife and I volunteer regularly at our local humane society dog shelter. Last year, we spent nearly 75% of our weekends walking and caring for shelter dogs. It's a routine that brings joy, perspective, and a sense of purpose beyond the day-to-day. Balance isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.
